IRDC Launches New Website

The Iowa Rural Development Council is pleased to unveil its new website,  which was created by the talented team at Big Imprint, a West Liberty-based websites and marketing firm.

“We are thrilled to have Ethan Anderson and the Big Imprint designers on our team,” said IRDC Chair Sandy Ehrig.  “We intentionally sought out rural design firms and Big Imprint really impressed us.  Plus, Ethan has made a real impact on downtown West Liberty!”

The website seeks to address ideas that emerged from the work of the Empower Rural Iowa task force, appointed in 2018 by Governor Kim Reynolds.   The task force felt a rural web portal, combining both resources and case studies/templates would be valuable to small town leaders seeking information.

“We think the new IRDC website fills that need,” Ehrig said.  “We will work closely with the Governor’s Office, the Iowa Economic Development Authority and partners both on the Empower task force and the Rural Development Council.  We want this site to be a robust collection of information for any rural Iowa community,”

The site will also feature a link to registration for the 2020 Iowa Rural Summit, to be held April 29-May 1 at the Hotel Kirkwood in Cedar Rapids.
