Wapello County Youth Engagement Zoominar Available
The July 26 IRDC Zoominar on the Wapello County Youth Community Co-Designer Pre-Apprenticeship Program is available for viewing.
Presenters Krista Tedrow, Diana Dominguez and Michael Rodriguez talked about the program designed to train, and pay youth as consultants to co-design systems through social change initiatives, enhancing leadership skills and job opportunities in various industries focused on five areas:

· Research & Evaluation: Authentically engage youth to plan, design, and execute research for equitable, intentional, and meaningful delivery of youth programming and policies.

· Logistics & Event Planning: Organize events, mobilize youth and adult allies to transfer knowledge, develop and facilitate youth panels, forums, and roundtables, and share best practices to authentically engage youth.

· Marketing & Media: Create youth marketing and outreach campaigns, program ambassador-and influencer-specific marketing strategies, develop brand materials, design reports, develop press releases, etc.

· Grant Writing and Management: Learn about aspects of grant development, management, documentation, and reporting; prospect research, cultivation and proposal development; compiling statistical data; financial analysis and budget development.

· Strategic Planning & Facilitation: Identify assets and gaps in authentic youth engagement strategies and develop a strategy to address youth needs.
